Bayan Hot Spring

Bayan Hot Spring is a natural bathing site with several warm pools formed in the Yangmingshan forest, where water emerges from underground volcanic sources. The area near the Huangxi River creates an unusual mix of heated spring water and cooler zones throughout the wooded setting.

The spring developed from volcanic activity beneath the surface that continues to provide warmth today. Heavy flooding in 2017 caused damage to the landscape, yet the area has recovered on its own over time.

Visit early in the morning when fewer people are present and the pools feel most inviting. Wear comfortable hiking shoes since the trail along the river is uneven and slopes downhill in some sections.
