Grass Mountain Chateau, Cultural heritage museum in Beitou District, Taiwan
The Grass Mountain Chateau spans 7,200 square meters and features architectural elements combining Eastern and Western design influences from the 1920s period.
Built in 1920 by Taiwan Sugar Corporation, the chateau served as Emperor Hirohito's accommodation during his visit and later became Chiang Kai-shek's residence in 1949.
The museum displays preserved living quarters, period furniture, and exhibits that demonstrate the architectural and social evolution of Taiwan through the 20th century.
The museum connects to central Taipei via minibus route 小9 from Beitou MRT station, with directional signs guiding visitors from the Yangmingshan Bus Station.
The property includes a fish pond constructed in the shape of a Chinese character, representing the heart symbol within its garden layout.
