Grass Mountain Chateau

Grass Mountain Chateau is a 1920s residence in the Beitou foothills that combines Eastern and Western architectural styles throughout its design. The building occupies a large property and preserves rooms with their original furnishings and layouts.

The residence was built in 1920 by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation and later served as lodging for important visitors. Following different uses throughout the 20th century, it became a museum to preserve its history.

The residence displays how prosperous households lived in the early 20th century, with furnishings and daily objects still arranged in their original rooms. The spaces reveal the tastes and habits of people from that era.
