Fangyuan Township

Fangyuan Township is an administrative division in Changhua County located on Taiwan's western coastal plain and contains 26 villages. The area spans agricultural lands where rice fields dominate the landscape and is home to around 31,000 residents.

The region received migrants from Fujian starting in 1640 and was renamed Sunayama Village during Japanese rule. It gained its current name in 1945 after the end of World War II.

Rice farming has shaped daily life here for generations and remains central to the community's identity. Local markets serve as gathering places where residents and visitors encounter the rhythm of agricultural work and trade.

The township is organized under postal code 528 and governed by an elected mayor who manages local services. The coastal lighthouse and fishing port serve as useful landmarks when exploring the area.

Wanggong Fishing Port remains an active working harbor where traditional fishing practices continue today. Visitors can observe fishing vessels and the daily work of local fishermen along the waterfront.
