Formosa Fun Coast, Theme park in Bali District, Taiwan.
Formosa Fun Coast is a leisure complex in Bali District, Taiwan, covering 12 hectares with a water park that included a 400-meter slide and five swimming pools. The site also contained a section called Nature World that offered additional recreational areas.
The facility opened on July 8, 1989, and welcomed guests seeking water recreation and leisure for more than two decades. Following a tragic event in June 2015, the gates closed permanently, ending an era.
Families from across Great Taipei spent summer weekends together in the pool areas and recreational zones. The park became a regular destination when the hot season made a trip to the water appealing.
Visitors reached the park via several bus routes from Guandu Station, with stops placed directly at the entrance. The journey took about half an hour and followed main roads along the Tamsui River.
The longest water slide in Southeast Asia stood within the park and offered views of Guanyin Mountain during the ride down. Guests completed the entire route in several minutes, with curves and sections alternating along the way.
