大安海水浴場, Coastal recreation area in Taian District, Taiwan.
Daan Beach is a sandy beach on Taiwan's western coast, in the Daan District of Taichung. It sits along the Taiwan Strait and offers a wide shoreline used for swimming and other water activities.
The beach was developed in the 1970s, when rising incomes gave more Taiwanese people the time and means to visit the coast for leisure. Since then, it has grown into one of the most visited seaside spots on the western side of the island.
The beach serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors spend time by the water and escape their daily routines. It has become an important community meeting point, especially on weekends when families come to enjoy the seaside.
The best time to visit is between April and October, when the water is warm enough for swimming. During this period, shallow sections near the shore are easy to wade in, and rental equipment is available on site.
The beach is a nesting ground for sea turtles that come ashore during certain seasons to lay their eggs. Arriving early in the morning gives visitors the best chance of spotting their tracks in the sand before the tide washes them away.
