Rongxing Garden Park, Public park in Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan
Rongxing Garden Park is a 6.8-hectare (16.8-acre) park in Zhongshan District with European-style landscaping that includes pergolas covered in bougainvillea, lotus ponds, and maple tree paths. The grounds also feature wooden boardwalks, basketball courts, children's playgrounds, running tracks, and open lawns for various recreational uses.
The site was originally created in 1968 as a private botanical garden by the Ku family. It became public property in 1989 when Taipei City Government acquired it and opened it to the community.
The park functions as a meeting place where residents practice tai chi, join dance sessions, and celebrate seasonal festivities throughout the year. These activities shape daily life here and show how the community uses the space.
The park is located near Xingtian Temple and is easy to reach. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the grounds have many paths and open areas to explore.
The grounds contain a firefly restoration area supporting a population of about 100 specimens. This makes it one of the few places in Taipei where visitors can see these glowing insects in their natural habitat.
