Taitung Forest Park

Taitung Forest Park is an urban nature park in Taitung City that features three interconnected lakes named Pipa, Flowing, and Egret linked by walking paths. The grounds are covered with dense forests of beefwood trees and offer an extensive network of trails and cycling routes for visitors to explore.

The park developed from a natural area into a structured recreational space that incorporated existing wetlands and created public facilities for visitors. This transformation preserved the natural character while making the landscape accessible for community use.

The park serves as a gathering place where locals enjoy water sports competitions at Flowing Lake and visitors watch white egrets at the restored wetland area. People from the city come here to connect with nature and participate in outdoor activities throughout the seasons.

Visitors can rent bicycles at the entrance and explore the extensive trail network throughout the park at their own pace. The pathways are well-marked and suitable for different fitness levels, ranging from leisurely walks to more active cycling adventures.

Flowing Lake maintains a direct connection to the Pacific Ocean, creating natural tidal movements that shift the water level throughout the day. This rare feature creates a dynamic ecosystem that constantly adapts to the ocean's tidal rhythm.
