Liji Bridge, River crossing in Taitung City, Taiwan
Liji Bridge is a concrete structure that spans the Beinan River in Taitung, connecting the city's northern and southern areas. The crossing includes viewing areas where you can look out over the river and the mountains beyond.
The bridge opened in 1994 and made travel between the city's two sides much easier. This project represented a major step forward for Taitung's road connections.
The bridge location near Liji Village provides access to geological formations and natural landscapes that reflect the physical geography of eastern Taiwan.
The crossing is open and easily accessible whether you walk or drive across. The viewing areas let you stop and observe the river landscape from different spots along the way.
The bridge stands near geological features known as the Liji Badlands, which stretch approximately 100 kilometers from Taitung Bridge to the eastern side of Beinan River.
