The Art Site of Chiayi Railway Warehouse comprises twelve former industrial buildings arranged in a north-south pattern within the West District. The structures contain spaces designed for exhibitions, performances, creative work, and community activities.
The Taiwan Provincial Government selected Chiayi City in 1999 to develop the Art Network of Railway Warehouse initiative. This decision led to the conversion of disused railway facilities into a contemporary arts venue.
The site hosts rotating exhibitions that feature local and international artists working across different media. Visitors can experience creative practices and attend public events that engage the community throughout the year.
The site is within walking distance of Chiayi Station, making it easy to reach by foot. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since exploring the complex involves moving between multiple buildings.
The Black Golden Section Art Festival is held regularly and draws international artists to the site. This recurring event blends regional artistic traditions with contemporary creative trends throughout the year.
