Taichung Bus Terminal, Kuo-Kuang Motor Transportation
The Taichung Bus Terminal operated by Kuo-Kuang Motor Transportation is a modern station located next to the old train station with a large hall, ticket counters, and waiting areas. The station connects passengers to major cities across Taiwan including Taipei, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, with comfortable and clean buses featuring clear signage in Chinese and English.
The bus terminal opened in 2016 and served as a transportation hub in Taichung for several years. The original station closed at the end of November when the land lease ended, after which operations moved to a temporary location near Taichung Station that opened on December 1.
The bus terminal is where the daily life of the city reveals itself: students heading to school, workers commuting, and families preparing for trips. The way people queue, wait quietly, and keep track of their belongings shows local habits and rhythms.
The station is located directly next to the old train station, making transfers between bus and train travel simple. The facility is clean, well organized, and staff speak basic English to assist both local and visiting travelers.
The station features real-time arrival and departure screens so travelers know exactly when their bus will arrive. Many buses also offer free Wi-Fi and phone charging stations, making the waiting experience more comfortable and convenient.
