Pingxi Guesthouse of Taiyang Mining Company is a historic accommodation building in Jingtong constructed from local cypress wood with traditional sliding doors and Japanese design features throughout. The property contains ten preserved dormitory-style rooms arranged across the estate to serve both business visitors and leisure guests.

Built in 1939 by Taiyang Mining Company, the guesthouse opened when coal extraction was central to the region's economy and growth. The building reflects how Japanese companies operated in Taiwan during that industrial era.

The building shows how Japanese design merged with local building traditions during the colonial period, visible in every room and doorway. You can sense how the space was shaped for both work and hospitality in a mining-driven economy.
