Shevchenko Park, Public garden in Dnipro, Ukraine

The 36-hectare Shevchenko Park contains wide pathways, water features, fountains, and numerous local and exotic tree species across its landscaped grounds.

The park originated in 1790 when Cossack captain Lazar Globa established gardens on this land before selling them to Prince Potemkin for 3000 rubles.

The central park, named after Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in 1925, features the Palace of Students which hosts concerts, literary events, and academic gatherings.

Visitors can access chess tables, walking trails, observation points overlooking the Dnieper River, and several cafes throughout the park grounds.

Underground tunnels and labyrinths exist beneath the former Potemkin Palace, while the park's rare plant collection includes tulip trees and ginkgo specimens.
