Turkul

Turkul rises to an elevation of 1933 meters between Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Zakarpattia Oblast, featuring rocky slopes and alpine meadows.

The mountain territory changed governance multiple times throughout the 20th century, transitioning from Hungarian to Czechoslovak and later Soviet control before joining Ukraine.

The surrounding region maintains traditions of several ethnic groups including Ukrainians, Rusyns, Hungarians, and Romanians, each contributing to local festivals and customs.

Hiking trails to Turkul summit remain accessible from spring through autumn, requiring proper mountain gear and weather monitoring for safe ascents.

The summit provides access to Nesamovyte Lake, positioned at 1750 meters altitude, recognized as one of the highest water bodies in the Carpathians.
