Кириченковый колодец, Heritage spring in Izium, Ukraine.
The Kyrychenko spring is a natural water source located near the Holy Ascension Cathedral at the Pischansky Monastery in Izium. The water emerges at temperatures between 5 and 8 degrees Celsius year-round.
In the 17th century, a Cossack named Kyrychenko discovered this water source while digging a well on his property. The discovery followed years of prayer for his daughter's healing.
The spring holds spiritual importance for Orthodox Christians, who visit throughout the year to collect water for personal devotion. Pilgrims view the site as a place of faith and prayer connected to their beliefs.
Access to the spring is through a chapel with bathing facilities that operates seasonal hours. The water remains cold year-round, so visitors may want to plan their visit accordingly and bring appropriate clothing.
According to local tradition, water unexpectedly burst through the floor of Kyrychenko's house and reportedly restored his daughter's sight. This sudden appearance of water marked the beginning of the site's spiritual reputation.
