Lake District, National Park in England
The Lake District, also known as The Lakes or Lakeland, is a mountainous region in North West England.
It was designated as a national park on 5th May 1951.
This place has been an inspiration for many famous poets and writers such as William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.
It's highly popular for hiking, climbing, and water sports activities.
It is home to the deepest and longest natural lakes in England - Wastwater and Windermere respectively.
