Slough, Commercial town in Berkshire, England
Slough is a town in Berkshire in southeast England located between the Thames Valley and London. The streets run north and south from the railway station, connecting residential districts with large business zones that occupy much of the town.
The town remained largely agricultural until the First World War when a military depot appeared. Later the industrial site grew into one of the largest business parks in Europe.
The population represents over 150 different nationalities, with Asian communities forming the largest demographic group at 46.9 percent.
Trains from the station bring travelers to London Paddington in less than a quarter of an hour. The town works as a stopover for visitors who want to stay outside the capital.
The business district houses several data centers that handle a large share of British internet traffic. Visitors notice the windowless architecture of these buildings along the main roads.
