Bridgewater Township
Bridgewater Township, Administrative township in Somerset County, United States
Bridgewater Township extends across 32.36 square miles of land in New Jersey, featuring residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and several distinct communities including Bradley Gardens and Finderne.
The township received its charter from King George II in 1749, becoming one of the initial 104 townships established in New Jersey during the colonial period.
Regular council meetings and community events at the municipal building on Commons Way foster citizen participation in local governance and strengthen neighborhood connections.
The municipal administration provides essential services through dedicated departments, with public meetings scheduled 48 hours in advance and livestreamed on the township's YouTube channel.
The first official United States flag was displayed at the Middlebrook encampment, located within the current boundaries of Bridgewater Township during the Revolutionary War.
