Hearst Tower, Skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, United States.
Hearst Tower is a 182-meter-tall office building at 300 West 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan. The structure contains 46 floors and displays a geometric steel framework across its glass facade.
A six-story Art Deco base was completed here in 1928, but further construction halted during the Great Depression. Norman Foster designed the modern tower above it and the project was finished in 2006.
The building houses multiple Hearst media publications including Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar, serving as a central hub for journalism and publishing.
The entrance lobby spans three stories and acts as a central distribution point for 21 elevators and upper office levels. Conference rooms, a cafeteria, and a health center are located within the upper floors.
A three-story waterfall in the lobby recycles rainwater collected from the roof to help regulate temperature and humidity inside the building. This recycling system contributes to the environmental strategy of the structure.
