Busch Memorial Stadium, Baseball stadium in downtown St. Louis, US
Busch Memorial Stadium was a baseball venue in downtown St. Louis that operated between 1966 and 2005. The structure accommodated roughly 50,000 fans and featured white concrete arches paired with red brick exterior walls.
The venue opened in 1966 and served as home to the St. Louis Cardinals for nearly four decades. The team won two World Series here in 1967 and 1982 before the building was demolished in 2005.
The stadium established itself as a central gathering place for Missouri baseball fans, drawing crowds of up to 49,676 spectators for games and events.
The site sat close to Interstate 64 and offered several parking options for visitors. Today a newer venue bearing the same name occupies this location.
One section of the ballpark was named Big Mac Land in honor of Mark McGwire's record-breaking 1998 season. Fans in their seats could see the Gateway Arch standing just a few hundred yards away.
