Battle of the Rosebud, Battlefield in the United States
The Battle of the Rosebud was fought on June 17, 1876, between Native American forces and the United States Army.
It was a prelude to the Battle of the Little Bighorn that occurred one week later.
The battle is part of the Great Sioux War of 1876 and shows the resistance of the Native Americans against US government policies.
Visitors can explore the battlefield site which is located in Big Horn County, Montana.
Led by General Crook, it was one of the few instances where American forces faced large groups of Native American warriors in the open.
