The Canaan Valley Resort State Park extends across a high-altitude valley with 47 ski slopes, hiking trails, and an 18-hole golf course.
The park opened in 1971 on the former Weiss Knob Ski Area site, which started operations in 1955 with multiple rope tows.
The resort hosts numerous community gatherings throughout the year, including the Celebration of the Arts and Wind Fest with regional artists.
The resort provides 160 rooms, 23 cabins, and 34 campsites with full hookups, along with indoor and outdoor swimming pools for year-round activities.
Located in the highest valley east of the Mississippi River, the park contains the second-largest inland wetland area in the United States.
