Bush Tower, Historic skyscraper at 130 West 42nd Street in Manhattan, United States
The 433-foot Bush Tower features brick facades with vertical ribs, forming a Neo-Gothic architectural design that rises above Times Square between Broadway and Sixth Avenue.
Built between 1916 and 1918 for Irving T. Bush's Terminal Company, the thirty-story tower emerged as one of the first buildings following the 1916 Zoning Resolution.
The tower operated as a centralized marketplace where manufacturers displayed products, while its lower floors contained a buyer's club for visiting merchants.
The building contains seven elevators serving thirty floors of office spaces, with over 200,000 square feet available for commercial tenants in Midtown Manhattan.
The tower's trompe-l'œil brickwork creates an illusion of depth through vertical ribs, setting new standards for architectural design in early Manhattan skyscrapers.
