Wild West World, Former theme park in Park City, Kansas, US
Wild West World was a former theme park in Park City along Interstate 135 in Kansas. The 130-acre site featured carnival rides decorated with western elements, performance stages, and entertainment zones styled after the frontier era.
The park was developed by Thomas Etheredge and operated from May to July 2007. After its closure, the site remained inactive until 2010, when its components were sold at auction.
The park recreated frontier life through staged gunfights, cowboy performances, and western-themed shows held in the Johnny Western Theater. Visitors could experience what life felt like during the settlement era.
The site was positioned along a major interstate highway, making it easy to reach by car. Since operations ceased after only two months, it never reopened to visitors.
The venture failed due to financial problems and low visitor numbers, closing after just two months. The founder Thomas Etheredge faced legal troubles afterward related to securities fraud.
