Belmont Abbey College

German Benedictine monks established the institution as St. Mary's College in 1876, holding its first graduation ceremony two years later before adopting its current name in 1913.

The Abbey Players, founded in 1883, performs theater productions throughout the academic year, serving both the student population and surrounding North Carolina communities.

Students select from over 30 majors and 45 minors with a faculty ratio of 13:1, while receiving substantial financial aid packages averaging $9,266 annually.
