Blair Academy, Private preparatory school in Blairstown, United States.
Blair Academy is a boarding school in Blairstown, New Jersey, with classroom buildings, residence halls, and athletic facilities spread across a large campus. The grounds combine 19th-century architecture with modern laboratories, studios, and playing fields.
The school was founded in 1848 as Blair Presbyterial Academy, funded by railroad entrepreneur John I. Blair. Addison Hutton designed several campus buildings in the late 19th century.
The academy maintains a diverse student community with individuals from numerous backgrounds participating in academic programs, athletics, arts, and community service initiatives.
The campus sits in a rural part of Warren County, about 60 miles (97 km) west of New York City. Buildings are spread throughout the grounds, with pathways connecting classrooms, residential areas, and playing fields.
A stone arch built in 1904 stands at the center of the campus and frames the main pathway through the grounds. Students pass beneath it during their first convocation and walk through again at graduation, marking the beginning and end of their time there.
