Smithfield Beach

The beach became part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in the 1960s as a protected recreational zone. This designation helped establish it as a destination for river visitors.

The beach is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM and offers parking, restrooms, and picnic areas. Boat ramps for canoes and kayaks are available, making it convenient for water activities.

The McDade Recreational Trail connects directly to this beach, allowing visitors to combine swimming with hiking along the Delaware River. This link makes it easy to switch between water activities and forest trails throughout the day.
