Chicago and North Western Railway 1385

The Chicago and North Western Railway 1385 is a steam locomotive displayed at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in North Freedom that once powered freight trains across the country. The engine has a distinctive wheel arrangement and was built to haul heavy loads over long distances.

Built in 1907 at American Locomotive Company in Schenectady, this engine worked in freight service for nearly 50 years before being retired in 1956. It was later preserved and relocated to Wisconsin, where it now stands as a working reminder of its operating years.
