Church of St. Hubertus-Catholic
Church of St. Hubertus-Catholic, Catholic church building in Chanhassen, United States.
The Church of St. Hubertus features traditional regional architectural elements with a main sanctuary space and separate bell tower section.
Construction of the third Church of St. Hubertus building in 1887 marked the growth of German Catholic settlement in the Minnesota region.
The congregation established by Father Aloysius Wewer in 1877 brought together German Catholic families who shaped the development of Chanhassen.
The National Register of Historic Places designation ensures regular evaluations and maintenance procedures to preserve the building's structural elements.
Builder John Geiser, who constructed about 30 churches during his career, created both the building and the altar of St. Hubertus.
