The Commodore Joshua Barney House is a brick dwelling in Savage with three distinct sections, including the original 1760 two-and-a-half-story structure and two later frame additions built from different materials. The property occupies seven acres and functioned as a bed and breakfast until 2012.

The house was built in 1760 and belonged to the Barney family, who played roles in early American naval history. Commodore Joshua Barney fought in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, and later his daughter's marriage connected the family to the growing mill industry in the area.
