Eastern Point Light

Eastern Point Light is a white brick tower standing on the eastern tip of Cape Ann near Gloucester. The structure reaches about 11 meters in height and includes a two-story keeper's house built alongside it in 1879.

This lighthouse began operating in 1833 to help ships enter Gloucester Harbor safely. The tower underwent reconstruction in 1848 and again in 1890 to improve its structure and function.

This lighthouse sits in a landscape that has drawn fishermen and artists for generations. Its position on the water connects it to the working traditions of the coast.

This location on the headland offers wide views across the water and along the shoreline. Sturdy footwear is helpful since the rocks can be slippery and access to certain areas may be uneven.

A large rock formation called Mother Ann extends along the shore nearby and shapes the silhouette of this coastline. This natural feature serves as a distinctive landmark for vessels approaching the harbor.
