Eastern Point Light
Eastern Point Light, Lighthouse at Eastern Point in Gloucester, Massachusetts
The white conical brick tower stands 11 meters tall with an attached two-story keeper's quarters built in 1879 on Cape Ann's eastern shore.
Eastern Point Light began operations in 1833 as a navigational aid for vessels entering Gloucester Harbor, with subsequent tower reconstructions in 1848 and 1890.
The lighthouse grounds housed American landscape painter Winslow Homer in 1880, connecting maritime safety with New England's artistic heritage.
The lighthouse emits a white flash every five seconds and includes a fog signal system with both a horn and the original bell.
A natural rock formation called Mother Ann extends along the shoreline near the lighthouse, creating a distinct coastal silhouette.
