Navoi Park, Urban park in Chilanzar district, Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Navoi Park is a 65-hectare green space in the Chilanzar district with extensive paths, mature trees, and planted flowerbeds. The park features a 9-hectare artificial lake with boat rentals and various recreational facilities.
The park was founded in 1932 by Tashkent Komsomol members and officially opened in 1937. Construction took place on the grounds of a former brick factory quarry.
The central monument depicts poet Alisher Navoi beneath a domed rotunda, while the Writers' Alley displays statues of 20 Uzbek literary figures. These spaces reflect the importance of literature in local identity.
The park offers bicycle paths, benches, tables, and restrooms, with restaurants available and access via nearby metro stations Milliy Bog and Bunyodkor. The paths are well-maintained, making navigation easy for visitors of all abilities.
A miniature railway system was built in 1940 and is operated by children aged 12 to 16 with real locomotives and signals. This functioning system shows how technical skills are passed on to young people.
