Valencia's Aquarium, Recreational park and aquarium in Valencia, Venezuela

Valencia's Aquarium is a recreational and educational complex with several sections dedicated to marine life, terrariums, reptile displays, and land animals. The facility houses approximately 1,300 animals across about 115 different species spread throughout these interconnected exhibition areas.

The facility opened in December 1975 and was built on the grounds of an earlier structure. That earlier structure was Valencia's first aqueduct system, constructed in 1886 during the leadership of Antonio Guzmán Blanco.

The facility bears the name of the J.V. Seijas Foundation and focuses on teaching visitors about Venezuelan marine life and wildlife. Interactive displays help people understand how to protect the natural environments where these animals live.

The grounds offer restaurants, ice cream shops, walking paths, an auditorium, and a children's play area with bumper cars and a carousel. These amenities make it easy to spend several hours on-site with convenient access to food and entertainment throughout your visit.

The facility was the only place in the world where Amazon river dolphins were trained and lived in human care until 2016. The two final dolphins, Zeus and María, spent their entire lives there and reached the end of their lifespans while living at the center.
