Naguanagua Botanical Garden, Botanical garden in Naguanagua Municipality, Venezuela.
Naguanagua Botanical Garden is a 15-hectare space featuring more than 200 mature trees and diverse plant collections that represent the region's natural biodiversity. The site was developed to preserve and study different ecosystems found throughout the area.
The botanical foundation was created in 1991 following a community initiative to improve the environmental conditions of the area. This local effort established a space dedicated to protecting natural resources and providing environmental education.
The garden displays three distinct plant zones: a dry forest, aquatic vegetation near seasonal wetlands, and a human-made savanna landscape. Visitors can experience these different natural environments and learn how each one supports different plant life found in the region.
The garden is located behind the Carabobo Olympic Village and welcomes visitors interested in learning about plants through guided tours and educational programs. It is best to wear comfortable walking shoes and allow time to explore all three plant zones at a relaxed pace.
The land was originally provided by the Salesian Agronomic Society, making this a collaborative effort between a religious organization and environmental conservation. This partnership shaped the site's purpose as an educational space for nature and sustainability topics.
