San Esteban National Park, National park in Carabobo, Venezuela.

San Esteban National Park is a protected area in Carabobo, Venezuela, where different landscapes connect and extend toward Henri Pittier Park. The terrain includes mountain areas, forest paths, and water zones suitable for walking and swimming.

The park was established in 1987 to protect the old Road of the Spaniards, a trading route that once connected Valencia and Puerto Cabello. This path shows how colonial commerce once shaped the region.

The rock art site Piedra Pintada displays carvings left by people who lived here before Spanish arrival. Walking through the area, you can see these engravings and understand how earlier inhabitants expressed themselves through art.

Register at the Inparques office in San Esteban village before you enter to use the trails and swimming areas. Arriving early gives you time for check-in and exploring the different zones throughout the day.

The park spans both ocean and land zones across four municipalities, protecting animals like Brown-throated Parakeets and Ocelots. This mix of different habitats makes it a refuge for wildlife that has become scarce in the surrounding region.
