National Art Gallery

The National Art Gallery is an art museum in Caracas housed in a distinctive circular building with a contemporary design. The galleries display works spanning different periods of Venezuelan artistic development, arranged across interconnected exhibition spaces.

The institution was established in 1976 in a neo-classical building before relocating to its current modern structure in 2009. This move allowed for better display of the growing collection and reflected changing approaches to museum design.

The collection presents Venezuelan artistic evolution through pre-Hispanic artifacts, colonial paintings, and contemporary works by artists like Arturo Michelena and Armando Reverón.

The museum is centrally located and easily accessible on foot, with wheelchair access throughout the entire building. Plan to spend several hours here to properly explore the different exhibition areas at a comfortable pace.
