Dadeldhura

Dadeldhura is an administrative district in Sudurpashchim Province characterized by mountainous terrain with elevations ranging from lower valleys to peaks exceeding 3,000 meters. The region spans more than 1,500 square kilometers and contains numerous mountain communities at varying altitudes.

Before Nepal's unification, the region was governed by Nagi Malla, the last royal ruler of the Far Western Malla Kingdom. This transition to Nepali control marked a turning point in the area's governance and development.

The local population speaks Doteli as their primary language and follows Hindu traditions in their daily lives. These aspects shape how communities celebrate festivals and mark important life events throughout the year.
