Monument to Christ the King, Catholic monument at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Karachi, Pakistan
The white marble Monument to Christ the King rises 54 feet high near Shahrah-e-Iraq street, featuring a statue made from Italian Carrara marble.
The monument, established in October 1931, resulted from a 1927 initiative led by Vincent Gimenez S.J. with construction costs reaching 81,500 rupees.
A crypt beneath the monument holds 150 people and contains elaborate murals depicting heaven and hell created by Mr. Vaz, an artist from Goa.
The monument underwent complete restoration in 2013 to address structural damage caused by weather conditions and soil salinity in the area.
The inauguration included a nine-day celebration with Mass services and a grand procession featuring participants dressed as Biblical characters.
