TDF Ghar, Cultural learning center in Soldier Bazaar, Karachi, Pakistan.
TDF Ghar is a cultural center located in a historic house in Soldier Bazaar, featuring traditional architectural details throughout. The building contains handcrafted tiles, vintage furnishings, a covered veranda with a café, and three exhibition spaces for art and events.
The building was constructed during the 1930s as a private residence and changed hands when the Dawood family acquired and restored it in 2016. This restoration transformed the former home into its current cultural function.
The three exhibition halls host rotating displays of art and films that reflect Karachi's diverse communities and creative traditions. You can see how local artists and makers use the space to share their work.
The center welcomes visitors on most days of the week with extended opening hours that work for both daytime and evening visits. It is easily accessible on foot from the main bazaar street with straightforward access to the grounds.
The rooftop provides direct sightlines to the Quaid's Mausoleum, a major landmark visible across the city's skyline. The first floor also features a library where visitors can exchange books from a large collection available on-site.
