Bucharest Bărăția Church

Bărăția Church is a Roman Catholic place of worship in central Bucharest, featuring distinctive Romanesque Revival architecture with arched windows and decorative stonework. The building rises to approximately 35 meters and includes a prominent bell tower that dominates the boulevard where it stands.

Franciscan monks built the first wooden chapel in 1314 to serve Italian merchants seeking a place for worship in the growing city. The current stone structure was erected in 1848 after a major fire devastated Bucharest, leading to the reconstruction of many landmarks.
