Walk of Fame Bucharest, Hall of fame in Time Square, Bucharest, Romania.
Walk of Fame Bucharest is a series of bronze stars embedded in the pavement of Time Square honoring notable Romanian actors and cultural figures. Each star displays a name and biographical details, creating a physical tribute to entertainment professionals spread across the public space.
The project started in 2011 as a collaborative effort between Cocor and Metropolis Theater to create a permanent honor system. Actor Florin Piersic was awarded the first star, establishing a precedent for recognizing contributions to Romanian entertainment.
The names carved into each star serve as a public tribute to performers who shaped Romanian cinema and theater. As visitors walk through the square, they encounter a living record of the country's entertainment world across different generations.
The stars are located on the pavement of Time Square and can be explored while walking through the area at your own pace. Since this is an outdoor installation, it is accessible at any time and requires no special arrangements or planning.
Honorees receive their stars during ceremonies held in their birth months, linking each artist's personal timeline to the calendar year. This monthly schedule creates a continuous cycle of celebrations that brings the community together throughout the year.
