Description
Old St. George Church is a Romanian Orthodox church building in central Bucharest with a large narthex and three entrance doors on its facade. The western side features two towers with pilasters decorated with Neo-Corinthian capitals, incorporating design elements from the Brâncovenesc period of Romanian architecture.
History
The original church was established before the 16th century, with archaeological findings indicating a foundation from the 15th century beneath the current structure. The building was later reconstructed and reshaped with architectural elements from the Brâncovenesc period.
