Al-Ijabah Mosque, Prophetic mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
Al-Ijabah Mosque is a small mosque in Medina with a single dome and minaret. It sits north of Al-Baqi Cemetery and stands several hundred meters away from the main sacred mosque.
This mosque was established in the 7th century on land given by Muawiyah bin Malik of the As-Sus tribe during Prophet Muhammad's time. It underwent major renovation in the 17th century that significantly enlarged its footprint.
Prophet Muhammad performed prayers here and made supplications, with two of them answered according to Islamic tradition. The site holds deep meaning for believers as a place of divine response.
The mosque is located in the Bani Muawiyah District and is easily reached on foot from Medina's center. Visitors should know that the prayer hall is modest in size and prayer times should be respected.
The name Al-Ijabah means acceptance or approval in Arabic and refers directly to the answering of Prophet Muhammad's prayers at this location. This linguistic connection makes the name itself a kind of monument to what occurred here.
