Gediz

Gediz is an administrative district in Kütahya Province, situated at about 817 meters elevation in western Turkey's Aegean region. The town spreads across valleys and plains with the typical features of a smaller provincial settlement.

The original settlement was destroyed by an earthquake, leading the population to relocate to the current site in 1970. This event marked a turning point in the community's history.

The Tarhana Festival brings residents together to celebrate the traditional dried soup made from fermented grains and yogurt. This gathering shows how deeply the dish is woven into local identity and everyday cooking.

Regular bus services connect the town to larger cities, and the center offers banks, markets, and medical facilities. Most services are within easy reach on foot or by local transport.

The Muratdağı Thermal Ski Center combines winter sports facilities with natural hot springs. This unusual blend offers visitors both recreational activities and therapeutic bathing in one location.
