Güney Waterfall, Natural monument and waterfall in Denizli Province, Turkey
Güney Waterfall is a natural monument in Denizli Province where water descends approximately 20 meters into the Büyük Menderes River. Mineral-rich water at the base has created distinctive limestone and travertine formations.
The waterfall formed through natural geological processes shaped by flowing water over time. Following a landslide that caused damage in 2013, restoration work improved access and stability at the site.
The waterfall serves as a social gathering place where visitors and locals enjoy outdoor meals and spend time together in a natural setting.
The site is located near Güney town and is easily reached from most directions. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes as the ground near the water becomes wet and slippery.
A natural cave beneath the waterfall contains an underground pond that becomes visible when water levels are low. The path to the waterfall features hand-laid cobblestones built using traditional methods.
