Kaklık Cave, Show cave in Denizli Province, Turkey.
Kaklık is a cave filled with warm mineral water that extends for about 300 meters through connected chambers and passages. The interior displays travertine formations, limestone deposits, and moss-covered walls illuminated by lights throughout the passage.
The cave formed approximately 2.5 million years ago during the Pliocene Period when its roof collapsed to create the current entrance. This geological event set the stage for the continuous water flow that shapes the cave's character today.
Residents in the area have long recognized the warm mineral water for its healing properties and have gathered here for centuries to experience its benefits. The springs remain an important gathering place that connects people to the natural landscape around them.
A wooden walkway guides visitors through the cave on a circuit of about 190 meters that takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip since the floor is damp and can be slippery in spots.
A continuous stream of warm, sulfurous water flows through the cave, creating small pools and waterfalls as it moves. This water nourishes moss that grows on the illuminated walls, giving the passage its distinctive appearance.
