Pursaklar, Metropolitan district in Ankara, Turkey
Pursaklar is a metropolitan district located northeast of central Ankara and comprises several formerly separate municipalities that were consolidated. The area spans rolling terrain and contains numerous residential neighborhoods connected to the city center by regular public transportation.
The area was originally a small settlement with only a few hundred residents in 1965 before developing into a major residential district. In 2008 it gained official district status after several surrounding municipalities were integrated into the expanded boundaries.
The district organizes an International Cat Beauty Festival each year while maintaining multiple public parks and green spaces for community gatherings.
The district is well connected to Esenboğa Airport and served by numerous bus routes that make traveling to the city straightforward. The best time to explore is during the dry months when roads and pathways are in good condition.
A dolphinarium offers visitors rare opportunities to encounter marine mammals in an inland city location. This facility attracts families and school groups who would otherwise have limited access to such interactive marine experiences.
