Fountain of Ahmed III, Ottoman rococo fountain at Topkapi Palace entrance, Istanbul, Turkey
The fountain features a square structure with five small domes, four ornate facades, and mihrab-shaped niches containing water spouts and drinking basins.
Built in 1728 during Sultan Ahmed III's reign, this fountain replaced an earlier Byzantine water source called Perayton at the same location.
The fountain displays fourteen quatrains of water-themed poetry written by Seyyid Hüseyin Vehbi bin Ahmed on calligraphic plates with blue and red tiles.
Located at the intersection of Soğuk Çeşme Sokak and Kabasakal Cadde, the fountain remains accessible to visitors exploring the Fatih district.
The structure appeared on Turkish 10 lira banknotes between 1947 and 1952, marking its status as a national architectural symbol.
