Mertim

Mertim is a skyscraper in Mersin that rises to approximately 177 meters and contains 52 floors. The building houses commercial spaces alongside sixteen floors dedicated to hotel operations, currently managed by the Radisson Hotel Group.

The building was constructed between 1987 and 2000 as Turkey's tallest structure until the Is Bankasi Towers in Istanbul surpassed it. This marked a significant moment in the evolution of Turkish architecture and urban development.

The name Mertim comes from Mersin Ticaret Merkezi, reflecting its role as a commercial hub in this Mediterranean port city. The building's prominence in the skyline mirrors the economic importance of the region.

The complex provides access to commercial areas as well as hotel facilities with extensive amenities. Visitors should note that the building is located near the waterfront and is easily reachable from the city center.

During the early 1990s, this structure held the distinction of being the tallest completed building across the entire region spanning from Singapore to Frankfurt. This remarkable position highlights the rapid economic growth of Mersin during that period.
