Mersin Naval Museum

Mersin Naval Museum is a maritime institution with exhibits spread across approximately 1,850 square meters of indoor space, displaying uniforms, weapons, and ship models from different periods. The collection includes both historical artifacts and artistic renderings of seafaring figures and naval events.

Opened in 2011, the museum became the fourth naval institution of its kind in Turkey, joining similar facilities in Istanbul, Çanakkale, and İskenderun. Its establishment marked an important step in preserving maritime heritage across the country's coastal regions.

The museum displays paintings of renowned naval commanders like Piri Reis and Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Pasha, who remain central figures in the country's maritime memory. These portraits and battle depictions help visitors understand how these leaders shaped the nation's seafaring identity.

The museum is located just 100 meters from the Mediterranean Sea on Adnan Menderes Boulevard, making it easy to find and visit. Guided tours and educational programs about marine sciences are regularly offered to enhance your visit.

An outdoor exhibition area displays full-size military equipment such as radar systems and torpedoes that complement the indoor collections. This open-air section allows visitors to see actual naval equipment at full scale and understand its operational context.
