Zhongxing Bridge, Road bridge in New Taipei, Taiwan
Zhongxing Bridge is a road structure made of prestressed concrete that crosses two districts of New Taipei. It stretches just over a kilometer and carries vehicles across its dual lanes connecting the separated neighborhoods.
The bridge opened in 1958 as an important part of Taiwan's post-war rebuilding effort. In the early 1990s, it underwent a complete rebuild to fix structural problems that had developed.
The bridge links two districts and allows people to move easily between their neighborhoods. For residents, it is simply part of their everyday route to work or shopping.
The bridge is well-marked and easily accessible for cars and buses traveling between the districts. There are walkways for pedestrians and paths to the nearby Zhongxing Island if you want to stop and explore.
At one end of the bridge, stairs lead down to Zhongxing Island, a small piece of land with green space. It is a quiet spot by the water that many visitors overlook.
